Jump to any issue with Command K

The quick launcher opens with Command K and lets you jump to any issue by typing. As you type, the list filters with fuzzy matching, so a few characters narrows thousands of issues to the one you want. You move through results with the keyboard and open an issue without touching the mouse.

What does Quick launcher do?

  • Opens a launcher with the Command K shortcut.
  • Filters your issues inline with fuzzy matching as you type.
  • Lets you move through results and select with the keyboard.
  • Takes you straight to an issue without reaching for the mouse.

How it works

  1. 1

    Press Command K

With the popover open, press Command K to bring up the launcher and put your cursor in the search field.

  2. 2

    Type to filter

Start typing part of an issue title or identifier. The list narrows with fuzzy matching, so partial and out-of-order matches still surface the right issue.

  3. 3

    Select with the keyboard

Use the arrow keys to move through results and press Return to open the issue you want. No mouse required.

Quick launcher FAQ

What is the quick launcher shortcut?

The quick launcher opens with Command K. It brings up a search field and a filtered list of your issues in one keystroke. Because it is keyboard driven, you can open the launcher, type a few characters, and select an issue without moving your hand to the mouse. This makes navigating a large workspace fast, since you are jumping directly to an issue by name rather than scrolling through a long list to find it.

How does the fuzzy filtering work?

As you type in the launcher, the issue list filters using fuzzy matching. That means you do not have to type an exact title. A few characters from anywhere in the issue title or identifier will surface matches, even if the letters are not contiguous. The list narrows with each keystroke, so a large workspace collapses down to a handful of candidates quickly. You then arrow to the one you want and open it.

Can I use the launcher entirely from the keyboard?

Yes. The launcher is designed to be keyboard first. You open it with Command K, type to filter, use the arrow keys to move through the results, and press Return to open the selected issue. Nothing in the flow requires the mouse. This keeps you in the same hands-on-keyboard rhythm as your editor, so switching to an issue and back is quick and low friction.
