Privacy Policy

This policy explains how DeskB Ltd (a company registered in Hong Kong, with its registered office at Unit G, 15/F, TAL Building, 49 Austin Road, Yau Tsim Mong, Kowloon, Hong Kong) handles personal data in connection with the TimeToBuild website (timetobuild.app) and the TimeToBuild app. We are the data controller for the limited data described below. Your work data stays with you

This is the most important point. TimeToBuild runs on your own Mac. It talks directly to Linear using the OAuth session you authorize, and its AI features send content directly from your Mac to the AI provider you choose, using your own key or account. We do not receive, process, or store your Linear issues, your notifications, or your AI prompts and responses. How that data is handled is governed by your agreements with Linear and your chosen AI provider.

What we do collect

Licensing

To validate your licence, the app sends your licence key and a device identifier to our licensing service. This lets us confirm an active subscription and enforce the 3-device limit. It does not include any Linear content.

Purchases

Payments are processed securely by our payment processor, Stripe, who collect the card and billing details needed to complete your purchase and calculate tax, under their privacy policy. DeskB Ltd receives limited order information (such as your name, email address, and licence/subscription status) so we can provide support and manage your licence. We never see or store your full card details.

Product announcements

If you subscribe, we store your email address and confirmation record and use Emailit to send TimeToBuild product announcements. Signup is optional and separate from buying a licence. We add you to the audience after you confirm your email. You can unsubscribe using the link in any announcement. We do not track opens or clicks in confirmation and welcome emails.

Support correspondence

If you email us, we keep your message and contact details so we can respond and keep a record of support history.

Website

Our website collects only the minimal technical data needed to serve and secure it (such as standard server logs). We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

How we use this data

• to deliver and support the product you purchased;
• to validate licences and enforce device limits;
• to respond to your enquiries;
• to meet our legal and tax obligations.

Our legal bases under the GDPR are performance of our contract with you and our legitimate interest in running and securing the service. Product announcements rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the providers needed to run the service (principally Stripe for payments and tax calculation, and our email provider for licence and account emails) and where required by law. We do not sell your personal data. Emailit processes subscriber email addresses and delivers product announcements. Linear and the AI provider are services you connect and control directly.

Retention

We keep order and support records for as long as needed to provide the service and to comply with legal and accounting requirements, then delete or anonymise them. Unconfirmed newsletter requests are removed 30 days after the confirmation link expires. We retain confirmation and unsubscribe records to honour your choices.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email hey@timetobuild.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority (for example, the ICO in the UK or your national authority in the EU).

International transfers

DeskB Ltd is based in Hong Kong, and some of our providers (such as Stripe and the AI provider you choose) may process data outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards are applied as required by law.
