Create a Linear issue from any app with one shortcut
Global create lets you press Command Shift L from any app to open a create-issue modal. You type what you need in plain words, and AI extracts the title, due date, priority, and labels. You review the result and create the issue in Linear without leaving what you were doing.
What does Global create do?

Global create FAQ
What is the shortcut to create an issue?
The global create shortcut is Command Shift L. It works from any app on your Mac, so you do not need to open TimeToBuild or Linear first. Pressing it opens a create-issue modal over whatever you are working on. When you finish creating the issue, the modal closes and you return to your previous app. This keeps issue capture fast enough that you can log a thought without breaking focus.
What does the AI extract from what I type?
The AI reads your plain-language description and pulls out a clean issue title, a due date if you mention one, a priority if you signal one, and labels that match your workspace. For example, "urgent, fix the billing webhook by Monday" becomes a titled issue with high priority and a Monday due date. Every extracted field is shown before you create the issue, so you stay in control and can correct anything the AI got wrong.
Do I have to use AI to create an issue?
No. AI extraction is a convenience, not a requirement. You can type or paste a title directly and set the priority, labels, due date, and assignee yourself. AI features use your own provider key and can be left unconfigured if you prefer to fill in fields by hand. The create modal works the same either way, so you can mix quick AI capture with manual edits on the same issue.
