A full create flow, from labels to pasted images

The create flow in TimeToBuild covers the full issue: labels, assignee, and the title and priority you expect, plus image paste with AI analysis. Drafts persist, so a half-written issue is still there when you come back. You can create from the menu bar or with the Command Shift L global shortcut from any app.

What does Create issues do?

  • Sets labels and assignee alongside title, priority, and due date.
  • Accepts pasted images, with AI analysis to help describe what you pasted.
  • Keeps drafts persistent, so an unfinished issue survives until you return.
  • Opens from the menu bar or with the Command Shift L global shortcut.

How it works

  1. 1

    Start a new issue

Open the create form from the popover or press Command Shift L from any app to summon it.

  2. 2

    Fill in the details

Add a title, set labels and an assignee, choose a priority and due date, and paste an image if it helps. AI can analyze a pasted image to describe it.

  3. 3

    Create, or come back later

Create the issue in Linear when it is ready. If you step away first, your draft persists and is waiting when you reopen the form.

Create issues FAQ

What can I set when creating an issue?

The create flow covers the full issue, not just a title. You can set labels and an assignee, choose a priority and a due date, and paste an image into the issue. AI can analyze a pasted image to help describe it, and the same natural-language extraction used elsewhere can fill in fields from a plain sentence. This means you can capture a complete, well-formed issue in one pass rather than creating a stub and editing it later in Linear.

What happens to an issue I start but do not finish?

Drafts persist. If you begin an issue and step away, close the popover, or get pulled into something else, your work in progress is saved. When you reopen the create form, the draft is still there with what you had typed and set. This removes the small anxiety of losing a half-written issue, so you can start capturing a thought immediately and finish it whenever you get back to it.

Can I paste a screenshot into an issue?

Yes. The create flow accepts pasted images, so you can copy a screenshot and paste it straight into the issue. TimeToBuild can run AI analysis on the pasted image to help describe what it shows, which is useful for bug reports where a picture carries most of the context. The image and its description travel with the issue into Linear, so whoever picks it up sees the same visual you did.
