Set up an AI provider
Connect Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter, Kimi, Z.ai, Ollama, or LM Studio to unlock AI features. You bring your own key.
AI features are optional and use your own provider account: natural-language issue creation, activity summaries, and image descriptions. Nothing is bundled or marked up; requests go straight from your Mac to the provider you choose. Paste any API key, your own or one issued by your company. OAuth sign-in with OpenAI or Google also works.
Supported providers
- Anthropic (Claude): API key
- OpenAI: API key, or sign in with your existing OpenAI account
- Google Gemini: API key, or sign in with Google
- OpenRouter: one API key for many models across providers
- Kimi (Moonshot): API key
- Z.ai (GLM): API key
- Ollama: local models, no key and no cloud
- LM Studio: local models, no key and no cloud
Connecting a provider
- 1
Open Settings
Click the menubar icon, open Settings, and pick the AI tab.
- 2
Choose a provider and authenticate
Paste an API key, or use the sign-in button for OpenAI and Google. For Ollama and LM Studio, point the app at your local server address instead.
- 3
Pick a model and test
Choose a model from the dropdown (the app suggests a sensible default) and run the connection test. A green check means AI features are live.
Good to know
- Image analysis (describing pasted screenshots) needs a vision-capable provider: Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google.
- Background summaries automatically use a cheaper model when you have a frontier default selected, to keep your bill small.
- The app rate-limits and batches background AI work; you can always generate a summary on demand by opening an issue.
